Like most children I was drawing all the time, the only difference was that I did not stop. At fifteen, I attended The West of England College of Art. After some five years there, I worked as a designer and artist for a printer and then an advertising agency. Later I taught graphic design at the Hartlepool College of Art. In 1969 I decided to work freelance.
September 69 to 1972 was not an easy time. With three young boys, Simon, Ben and Marcus, but with the support of an understanding wife I pulled through and slowly established Doling Design so that by 1976 it was flourishing with a large staff. By this time most of my life was taken up by marketing and management functions.
In 1980 I launched a branch of the agency in Amsterdam, Great times!
2000 and I decided to set up house in Methoni a village on the very tip of the south western peninsular of Greece.
I met Mary in 2001 and together we live alternately in England and Greece.

The images shown here briefly illustrate the work I have produced over nearly six decades.
